Tuesday, 4-12-11: Oh, it is ON now...

Super short post today, I think.  We’d opted to play our SCC toons, and Lue was mentioned specifically, so I trotted out scrapper Lue early for a little warm-up BAF.  Went well enough, I suppose.  No overwhelming successes or cataclysmic failures.  We just got it done.
Next, Lue went to the Midnighters’ to conduct some business, only to find Hsi-Tu outside waiting for him.  Hsi-Tu is a herbalist who’s intensely interested in unlocking the secrets of Lue’s venom.  Like, maniacally, stalker-level of interested.  And she’s got poor social skills, and is very offensive. :P
She said that she needed help with a task the Midnighters had assigned her as a condition of membership.  Lue was none too pleased with the notion of Hsi-Tu being a Midnighter as well, but she promised to leave him be for good if he helped her.  So, he agreed, and enlisted Devil-Shot Smith’s help.  Her first words to Smith were something like, “Hello, White Devil.”  And it just went downhill from there.    The climax came when they were curing the Lost in Perez Park, and she remarked that solving the homeless problem would be simpler if the government or whoever would just feed them pesticides.
Smith called her a bitch, and Lue didn’t even know what to say at first.  She explained that the homeless were a blight on society, and Lue remarked that the Nazi party in WWII felt much the same about the Jewish people.  She apologized for giving offense, though not in a way that suggested she’d changed her opinion.  Lue, at this point, decided to just wrap up her task, so that she could keep her promise.  He strongly intimidated that if she broke her word, and stalked him again, he’d kill her.  He would, too.
Later, Caden talked a while with Eric in the base.  This was mostly because I kind of felt bad that Eric’s player had logged on late due to RL issues, and everyone had disbanded to go do whatever.  Even though he makes me want to pull my hair out a lot of times, I remember what it’s like to feel left out.
Anyway, Caden showed off the new addition to the VKD base, Avery, and Eric asked if he could use it.  Apparently, shifters like Caden and Eric feel the need to indulge their animal side occasionally, be it playing, hunting, flying, climbing, whatever.  And for whatever reason, Eric thinks a were-raven would stand out horribly in Paragon.  Caden nodded sagely, but his player snickered.  I was really just playing along at this point.  It was a pretty good little bonding moment for the two.  Caden likes him, but doesn’t quite get the shame and stigma that Eric feels about being a shifter.  It’s understandable, given who Caden’s parents are, and the way he grew up.  Eric was probably seriously sheltered by comparison.
And now…the forces of evil have a new champion.  A dark figure crackling with incredible power, a will of iron, and an unquenchable appetite for domination.   A man so powerful, so determined, and so malevolent that few could stand against him and survive.

Yeah, that is a maelstrom of fire behind him.  Because he's just that evil and powerful.

Yep.  I finished up all but one of his sets, and he’s perma.   WITHOUT HASTEN.  Oh yeah.  He’s a monster now.
*insert traditional evil laughter here*
